NIHR receives a Delegation from the US Senate Staff

Dr. Khalifa bin Ali Al-Fadel, Secretary-General of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received a delegation from the US Senate staff that is currently visiting Bahrain, where he welcomed them and pointed to the deep bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.

During the meeting, the NIHR’s Secretary-General gave a detailed explanation on the NIHR’s terms of reference, pointing out that the NIHR is performing its advisory role in submitting recommendations on human rights to the relevant bodies, in addition to its role in dealing with the human rights situation in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting at the same time the positive steps taken by the Kingdom in the promotion and protection of human rights.

For their part, the delegation expressed their thanks for the good reception and raised some questions on the NIHR’s functions and terms of reference, which were entirely answered by the NIHR’s Secretary-General.

The program of the delegation’s visit included a tour of the NIHR’s premises, including NIHR’s Call Center, Complaints Reception Office, Training Center and Library.
